Leading Liverpool-based business launches new initiative to reach net zero by 2028 as part of an investment in ESG
Liverpool-based business, Algeos, has launched a new initiative to achieve net zero by 2028. The project comes as part of Algeos’ continued investment in ESG and how the business is adapting manufacturing processes to meet its sustainability commitments.
Algeos’ objective is to monitor and reduce its carbon footprint and improve sustainability across the business, to be in line with the NHS net zero guidelines for suppliers to publish a carbon reduction by April 2024.
Some of its future initiatives also include the introduction of new uniforms made of 100% recycled material, the implementation of a comprehensive net zero strategy and further investment into renewable energy, and electric vehicles.
At present, Algeos sends zero waste from their operational and manufacturing sites to landfill, while they have completely overhauled their packaging, replacing plastic tape with paper and adopting paper shredding as opposed to bubble wrap. Algeos also practises additive manufacturing, which significantly reduces waste and is part of the research and development process.
