MD Creatives brings ITV’s The Voice UK to St Helens with auditions to be held at the historic Citadel Building next week

MD Creatives is bringing hit ITV show The Voice UK to St Helens this Easter, with online open mic auditions taking place inside the town’s iconic Citadel Building during the Easter holidays (April 6 and April 13).

As champions of undiscovered talent, MD Creatives is on the look-out for incredible solo vocalists, duos and trios from the Liverpool City Region to perform on one of St Helen’s most famous stages and be in with the chance of progressing through to the programme’s series 11 live shows in 2022.

The independent, vocational education providers and its creative director, Miguel Doforo, is also providing aspiring candidates pre-audition coaching at its Barrow Street headquarters, to help with vocal mentoring and tips on performing in front of a camera.

The auditions also present MD’s current class – known as the Creatives – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work behind the scenes on a major primetime TV show as runners and camera crew.

The tenth series of The Voice UK ended earlier this month, with Scottish singer, Craig Eddie crowned the winner. Coaches for the series were will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and Anne-Marie, with Emma Willis as host.

Miguel Doforo, creative director and founder of MD Creatives, said:

“Thanks to our history with Britain’s Got Talent, this amazing opportunity presented itself that we could not say no to. It not only gives hidden talent in the city region an opportunity to shine on a national stage with the support and expertise of MD Creatives, but also gives our existing class of students a chance to get hands-on, industry experience in TV production, which will stand them in good stead for when they look for full-time employment in the future.

“With auditions for large shows like this usually taking place down in London, many performers from the city region are often put off from the long distance. It’s great to bring these auditions to St Helens and give local talent the opportunity.”

Because of Covid safety protocols, auditions must be booked in advance. If you are interested, warm up those vocal cords, prepare your track and contact Miguel, or call 07860 702 654, to book.

The auditions on April 6 and 13 will begin at 2pm and are open for those who will be aged 16 and over on October 1, 2021 – any under 18s must be accompanied by a parent / legal guardian and any backing track must be supplied by the attendee.
