Strawberry Field to celebrate Christmas with a festive programme of events

One of Liverpool’s most loved visitor attractions, The Salvation Army’s Strawberry Field, today unveils its Christmas calendar of festive events and activities.

As part of the Christmas celebrations, locals will be invited to enjoy a whole host of events including a magical Christmas craft fair taking place on November 18, which will host some of Liverpool’s best local crafters and pop up music performances. Later in the month, The Salvation Army’s Strawberry Field will also be collaborating with the St George’s Hall Charitable Trust to bring its popular ‘Celebrating Christmas’ event to the iconic Great Hall on November 26.

Strawberry Field will once again be offering 12 days of Christmas lunch to celebrate the season at the Imagine More Café. Prepared using locally sourced produce, guests can enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch overlooking the beautiful gardens.

From December 9 to January 31, as an additional gift this Christmas, Strawberry Field is providing a 20% discount on tickets to its fascinating visitor exhibition that interweaves stories of The Salvation Army, John Lennon’s childhood, and the writing and recording of ‘Strawberry Fields Forever.’

Kathy Versfeld, mission director at Strawberry Field, said:

“For many people, 2023 has been a tough year when rising prices and ongoing economic uncertainty has robbed many people of their sense of optimism or fun. This year the team and I are delighted to be hosting a series of festive-themed events which invite our supporters and visitors to celebrate with us the true meaning of Christmas: coming together in community and finding hope, joy, peace and love, despite the challenges of everyday life.”
